Children & Family Therapy

Parenting can be both beautiful and overwhelming. When your child is struggling, family dynamics feel off balance, or you’re questioning whether you’re doing enough, it can be difficult to know what to do next. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

We offer therapy for children, teens, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, trauma, family conflict, divorce, parenting challenges, and difficult life transitions. Therapy creates a supportive space to better understand what is happening beneath the behavior, strengthen communication, build emotional regulation skills, and restore connection within the family.

A Collaborative, Skills-Based Approach

Therapy is tailored to each child and family’s unique needs. Our practice draws from several evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — Helping children and teens understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing healthier coping strategies.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — Building emotional regulation, distress tolerance, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — Helping young people develop psychological flexibility, connect with their values, and respond to difficult thoughts and emotions in healthier ways.

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) — An evidence-based approach specifically designed to support children and adolescents who have experienced trauma.

For children who have experienced trauma, TF-CBT provides a structured, developmentally appropriate approach to processing difficult experiences while building coping skills, emotional safety, and resilience.

Supporting the Whole Family

Children do not experience challenges in isolation. Family relationships, parenting stress, transitions, and communication patterns can all influence how a child feels and behaves. Therapy may include individual work with a child or teen, parent support, family sessions, or a combination based on the needs of the family.

The goal is not simply to change a child's behavior. It is to help children feel understood and equipped, while helping parents feel more confident, supported, and connected to their children.

Whether you're navigating ADHD, anxiety, behavioral concerns, trauma, divorce, or simply feeling stuck as a family, therapy can provide the tools and support to move forward together.
